November 2004: Minutes

The Midwest Chapter of REFORMA Vice President Patrica Conroy organized and moderated a career panel of librarians working with Spanish-speaking patrons for MLS students at Dominican University. The panel included the following speakers: Lourdes Mordini, Adult Services manager at Waukegan Public Library; Carmen L. Gray Markham, Spectrum Scholarship winner and Adult Services librarian at Glenview Public Library; Dr. William Jackson, Professor, Dominican University; Salvador Vergara, librarian at the Instituto Cervantes Library in Chicago; Tracie D. Hall, Director of the Office for Diversity at ALA; and Jan Schumudde, Director of the Northlake Public Library.

Highlights of the business meeting: Patricia Conroy and Vita Ciraulo made plans for representing Reforma Midwest at the VOCES Conference on Literacy, Culture and Identity Book Fair and Table Exhibit. This event was held on November 20, 2004 at DePaul University.
