July 2004: Minutes

Midwest Chapter of REFORMA organized a workshop at the Aurora Public Library for librarians to view two Spanish online database vendors. Gale Thompson Company representatives presented information on their products called Informe and Consulta. An EBSCO Company representative presented information about their Spanish medical information database.

Highlights of the business meeting: Martiza Ruiz, Alsip-Merrionette adult services librarian, is voted in as the new treasurer of the Midwest Chapter of REFORMA. The group is informed that all membership applications will now go to Maritza Ruiz to be processed and sent to National REFORMA headquarters office. Vita Ciraulo presented first draft of the new website. The group proofread the website content and discussed changes to be corrected. Patricia Conroy announced to the group that they should not pass up the chance to apply for the ALA Free Pass Program tothe Guadalajara Book Fair in Mexico. Vita Ciraulo announced that the next meeting will be held sometime in September 2004.
